Finding a New Job

Finding a new job is never easy it is always about getting 35 rejections (today maybe even 100) before you get that job offer.  It is terribly important to keep up your spirits and attitude and know that the elusive job offer is coming,  it will just take time and effort.

Probably the most important tool in your job search is your network, people you know, people you worked with,  all need to be contacted so that they can assist.  How many times have I heard the conversation where someone lands that great job – “How did you hear about that job?”  Well so and so is a friend of a friend who referred me.  The biggest mistake a person can make in a job search is to recoil from their friends and network.  Often times they may be embarrassed or not want to speak with them until they’ve “landed” somewhere.   It can play on an individuals esteem to be asked for the 10th time today “so are you working?  Have you found a job yet?”  The best response is “no – but I’m hoping you can help me!  Do you know of anyone looking for my skill set?”

So keep your head held high and use your network of friends and acquaintances after all most people like to help.  Good luck and good hunting
